More Than Just an Award: Why Vested is a Sunday Times Best Place to Work
For us this is big news … we were recognised as a Sunday Times Best Place To Work last year and have retained it for 2025 too! We’re really proud. But for me, this isn’t just about a shiny award. It’s about recognising the fantastic people I get to work alongside every day and how they make Vested a great place to be. And yes, there is the effort that we proactively put in every day to make Vested somewhere our team can truly do well – both at work and in their lives outside of it.
We’re a dedicated team, always bringing our best to our clients in financial services. But we also know that life doesn’t stop when you walk through our door or log off at the end of the day.
Lately, our team has been navigating a lot of “life.” That means everything from everyday ups and downs, new houses, childcare constraints, sad times, and of course, big celebrations too. We’ve welcomed new faces, and some team members have moved on to new opportunities. Through it all, everyone is balancing their career and contribution to our business with what’s happening for them personally.
This is exactly why being a “Best Place to Work” matters so much to us. We truly believe that for our team to excel at work, they need to feel supported in their lives outside of it. It’s not about finding some mythical “perfect balance.” Instead, it’s about creating an environment where work and life can coexist, adapt, and even make each other better.
So, how do we approach this?
- Real Support: When someone’s going through a tough time, celebrating a family milestone, or just needs a break, we try to offer genuine support. This means fostering an open culture where people feel comfortable talking, knowing they’ll be met with understanding and practical help. We know we won’t always get it perfectly right, but we genuinely try to be there for each other.
- Clear Communication: Keeping lines of communication open and clear is crucial. We aim to be straightforward about what’s happening in the business and encourage open conversations within teams. This helps us understand what each person needs, anticipate challenges, and work together to find solutions. It’s also how we share successes and work through difficulties together.
- Practical Flexibility: The last few years have really shown us how important flexibility is. We aim to offer options that help our team manage their commitments – whether that’s adjusting work hours, offering hybrid work, or simply trusting our team to get the job done in a way that works best for them. We believe in empowering our talented people to manage their own time and workload effectively.
We don’t always get it right, but we’ll always strive to make Vested a place where our team can be their best, in every part of their lives. This award is a reflection of everyone at Vested. It highlights the teamwork, empathy, and dedication that makes our agency not just a place to work, but a community where people can genuinely thrive.
