NFT Issues, Correcting History, Advertising and Shortages
NFT Issues: While many look forward to the day of decentralized finance, we still have a ways to go. The Economist held an NFT auction and has focused their findings on three major flaws: setting up a wallet, a high carbon footprint, and contract enforcement. Although these flaws are not preventing anyone from continuing to purchase NFT, eventually they will need to be addressed.
Correcting History: David Graeber, one of the leaders behind the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011, has recently passed away. He left behind him his last great work, The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity. The New York Times covers the impact the book has had on the American population, even before its release. It is set to be released on November 9th, but already holds the #2 spot for books on Amazon.
Advertising and Shortages: After over a year of shortages slowly becoming the new norm, companies are asking themselves if they should waste money on advertising. The Wall Street Journal discusses how the issue is not with demand, but that these companies cannot get product to the consumer fast enough. With the demand already there, they are asking why they should spend money towards advertising. On the other hand, they also do not want to give their competitors an opportunity to increase their advertising and in turn capture more share of the market. Regardless, ad companies have not seen a change in profits, and continue to expect an increase in advertising as we head into the holiday season.
